Get the most out of RareDrop
Everything our tools do, in plain language — how our pricing signals work, how to buy and sell well, and answers to the questions testers ask most.
Best practices
Read RareScore before price
Compare RareScore first, price second. Two cards at the same price with a 20-point score gap are not the same asset — the higher score sells faster when you want out.
Check the comp range, not one sale
A single marketplace result can be a bad auction or a friend deal. Look at the 30-day range and the number of sales behind it on the product page before you decide.
Verify the cert yourself
Every graded slab lists its cert number. Paste it into the PSA, BGS or CGC registry — it takes ten seconds and it should always match the listing.
Ask RareDrop AI before you commit
Paste the card and the ask into the advisor. It reads the same comps we do and will tell you plainly when a price is above market or a raw card isn't worth grading.
Shoot listings in flat, even light
Front and back, no glare, card filling the frame. Clean photos raise detection accuracy, cut listing review time and reduce condition disputes after delivery.
Use Concierge on high-value buys
For anything you'd be sick to lose in transit, take Concierge. We authenticate, inspect, double-box and insure before it leaves the vault.
Protect anything you can't afford to lose
On peer-to-peer orders over about $500, ask for Authenticity Protection. We hold the funds until you confirm the card, and both sides get a signed agreement on file.
Meet the seller before you pay
Open a buyer confidence session and get the card on camera. Two minutes on FaceTime settles centering, edges and surface far better than another round of photos.
Light your Live Drop like a photo shoot
Scanning reads what the camera sees. Even lighting, a steady hand and two seconds holding the card flat give near-perfect detection — a rushed flash means a queue full of misreads.
Open orders on camera
Film the unboxing on anything over $250. It makes a condition or damage claim a five-minute conversation instead of a week of back and forth.
Set alerts instead of refreshing
Add Wanted board entries and price alerts for the cards you're chasing. You'll hear from us the moment one lands rather than watching the vault all day.

Questions about our technology
How does TradeEdge analyse a trade?
Every card on both sides is valued at RareDrop Fair Value — our AI market engine's blend of guide averages, recent verified sold comps across platforms, and our AI estimate where comps are thin — then cash sweeteners are added. TradeEdge returns the value of each side, the delta in dollars and percent, and a written verdict flagging risks like thin comps or grading upside. It is guidance, not an appraisal.
How do I keep a trade safe?
Only stage cards you own with no open order, keep the conversation in the trade thread so it stays on record, add tracking as soon as you ship, and confirm receipt only once the card matches. Ownership transfers inside RareDrop after both confirmations, and the received cards land in your vault as drafts so you can re-price before going live. Read the full Trust & Safety rules on the Trade Floor safety page.
What happens if a Trade Floor trade goes wrong?
Start in the trade thread with photos and a clear description of the issue. If that does not resolve it, either side can escalate to RareDrop staff, who can view the full record including messages, tracking and the TradeEdge analysis at acceptance. We may void the trade, order a return, apply a cash adjustment or issue a policy strike. Repeated bad-faith behaviour ends Trade Floor access.
What is RareScore™ and how should I use it?
RareScore™ is a 0–100 signal combining demand, sales velocity, population, print run, grade, franchise strength, liquidity and momentum. Use it to compare two cards at a glance — a high score means a card is easier to sell later, not that it will go up in value.
What does Fair Value mean on a product page?
Fair Value is our modelled price for that exact card, grade and print, built by our AI market engine from guide averages and recent verified sold results across platforms, with outliers removed. If our list price is under Fair Value, you're buying below the recent market.
How current is the market data?
Comps refresh at least once a day, and high-movement cards refresh more often. The price history chart on each product page shows how the comp range has moved over time.
Can I trust RareDrop AI's answers?
RareDrop AI is grounded in our live vault and verified sold comps gathered across multiple platforms — it does not invent sales. It is guidance, not financial advice; always sanity-check a big purchase against the comps shown on the product page.
How does card scanning work when I list?
Snap a photo or short video of the front and back. Our detection reads the set, number, variant and visible condition, then pre-fills your listing. Anything it can't read you can type in manually before submitting.
What happens when my listing sells?
You get an email with the buyer's details and ship directly. If the buyer chose Concierge, you ship to our vault instead — we authenticate, inspect, repack and ship to them on your behalf.
Why do I need ID and a biometric check to sell?
Seller vetting keeps counterfeits and chargeback fraud off the marketplace. Verification is one-time, takes a few minutes, and unlocks listing on any paid tier.
How does Authenticity Protection protect both sides?
The buyer funds Authenticity Protection, we hold the money, the seller ships with tracking, and we release payment once the buyer confirms the card matches the listing. Both parties accept the terms by name and can download a signed agreement summary. Fees are 1.5% of the sale value, minimum $9 and capped at $150.
What is a buyer confidence session?
A scheduled call, live chat or FaceTime between the buyer and seller on an open order. Sellers set it up from Dashboard → Sales; buyers join from a private link. The chat thread is shared, and any private seller note stays visible only to the seller and RareDrop staff.
How do I get paid as a member seller?
Save your payment handles in Dashboard → Sales — Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal or Apple Pay — pick a preferred method, then trigger a payment request email to the buyer once the order is confirmed. For higher-value orders, request Authenticity Protection instead.
What does the seller analytics dashboard show?
Total vault value at today’s comps, potential graded upside on your raw cards, average RareScore, value by franchise and grade, and inventory aging — so you can see where your money is parked and what is worth grading or listing.
Can I list a lot of cards at once?
Yes. Bulk upload takes a batch of photos, runs detection on each and shows per-image status — processing, failed or published — with a progress bar. Bulk actions also let you mark items sold or delete them in one pass, and saved filter presets keep your favorite views one click away.
How do Live Drops work?
Pro and Elite sellers start a session from Dashboard → Live Drops. Their camera broadcasts to everyone in the room, and every few seconds our scanner reads the card on screen and queues it with set, number and grade. The host prices it and adds it to inventory in one tap — priced cards go live immediately, unpriced ones save as drafts. Buyers just watch and chat.
Can I run a private Live Drop?
Yes. Mark the drop private and invite members by email — only invited addresses can see or join it, and you can copy a direct invite link at any time. Public drops appear on the Live page for every signed-in member.
Do you take a commission on member sales?
No. Members pay a monthly or annual subscription and keep 100% of the sale price. Buyers only pay extra if they choose the optional Concierge service.
